Experience the natural diversity of
Virginia! With over 10 million items
in our collections, the museum is at
the forefront of scientific discovery
of the natural world in Virginia.
Seven staff scientists actively engage
in research on subjects ranging from
dinosaurs to millipedes and the
museum shares their new discoveries
with exhibits, programs, publications,
field trips and teacher education.

For 50 years, Piedmont Arts has
been bringing world-class visual and
performing arts to Martinsville and
Henry County. Visit our galleries for
ever-changing exhibits by local, national
and international artists; join us for a
concert, play or children's performance
as we celebrate over 20 years On Stage!;
or sign up for one of our many art
class offered throughout the year.

The Historic Henry County Courthouse
houses the MHC Heritage Center and
Museum in the portion of the building
that was formerly the Henry County Circuit Court Clerk's Office. Displays in the
Collectors Gallery change often so there is always something new to see. The former Deed Room is home to a timeline of the
history of Martinsville and Henry County featuring artifacts, photographs and
articles on Native American fish weirs,
the Civil War, tobacco and local industries.
