Quilting is a popular hobby in rural Virginia and some of our talented local residents have taken their love of quilting to the next level by painting colorful barn quilts. A barn quilt is a large piece of wood painted to resemble quilt squares. They are typically four-foot square boards that are mounted on barns, homes or other buildings. Each barn quilt has a story to tell and we hope that you'll enjoy discovering the stories behind these quilts as you drive through Martinsville-Henry County.
