19 Local Chefs Cook Up Indian-themed Foods for Piedmont Arts Fundraiser

Nineteen local chefs will prepare and serve heavy hors d’oeuvres with an Indian theme at Piedmont ArtsSavory September: India on Friday, September 9 from 7 – 10 pm at the museum.

This annual fundraiser for the arts celebrates the food and culture of India, allowing guests to experience new flavors and customs from the many regions of this diverse country.

“When you eat Indian food it’s like you are embarking on a journey; You travel to different Indian states and cities,” said Gayatri Titus, a Piedmont Arts Board member and chair of the committee planning the event. "Each food prepared by our talented chefs will offer its own blend of aromas, spices, flavors and textures.”

In addition to a cash bar with Indian beer and mango mojitos, local chefs will prepare the following Indian-themed dishes:

While savoring the tastes of India, guests can also take part in traditional Indian dancing, step into the photo booth for a keepsake image by Rick Dawson Photography or support the arts by taking part in a 50/50 raffle.

“In the past, our 50/50 raffles have raised thousands of dollars,” said Piedmont Arts Executive Director Kathy Rogers. “It’s a great way to raise money for the museum and reward one lucky community member for their support of the arts in MHC.”

50/50 raffle tickets are $10 each or $50 for 6. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at Piedmont Arts, located at 215 Starling Avenue, or at the museum on the night of the event.
