COMMUNITY CLASSES


LEARN HOW TO USE THE SHOPBOT CNC ROUTER

Discover your creative side while making unique wood designs with the Shopbot CNC Router. During this hands-on course, you will learn the basic steps of CNC production as well as computer design software. Covered topics include safety, operations, software materials, and project design best practices. Upon completion of the class, students will be certified to schedule time on the Shopbot for their own projects. No prior experience or technical knowledge needed.

 FAB LAB FAMILY DAYS 

Join us for a fun, hands-on activity for the entire family in the Fab Lab! Each month we will have a featured activity to allow individuals and families the opportunity to learn fun and creative things you can do in the Fab Lab. No experience or technical knowledge needed.

HOMESCHOOL CLASSES

Fab Lab Arduino - Homeschool Edition!
Technology is everywhere in our day to day life and at the heart of it all lies computer programming and electronics. In this class, we will use Arduino microcontrollers to explore how computer programming can be used to manipulate common things in the world around us--from lights and switches to sensors and motors. Projects will include manipulating color changing LED lights, using sensors and buttons to build our own 'musical' instruments, and using motors and servos to create motion.

Introduction to 3D Printing - Homeschool Edition!
Specially designed for homeschool students! Discover the newest creative phenomenon that is sweeping the world - 3D Printing! Duringthis introductory course, participants will gain an understanding of 3D design and printing fundamentals in a fun and easy way.

Covered topics include safety, operations, software, materials, and project design best practices. Upon completion of the class, students will be certified to schedule time on the 3D printers for their own projects. No prior 3D printing experience or technical knowledge needed.
