“Art Class Confidential" Showcases Artwork by High School Seniors

A special exhibit of artwork by local high school seniors is on display in Piedmont Arts’ Foster Gallery.

Each fall, the exhibit Art Class Confidential showcases the work of students taking advanced art classes at area high schools. This year’s exhibit features work by 36 students from Martinsville, Bassett and Magna Vista high schools and Carlisle School.

Director of Exhibitions Heidi Pinkston says exhibits in the Foster Gallery are an important part of the museum’s community programming. “The Foster Gallery is for the display of work by young artists,” she continued. “By showing student work at Piedmont Arts, we encourage young people to participate in the arts and give students’ friends and families the opportunity to experience the wealth of young talent we have in our area.”
