Crawford & Power to Perform at Smith River Fest

For both outdoor and music enthusiasts, Smith River Fest presented by Smith River Provision Company has some exciting news. The planning committee announced today that regional fan favorite, Crawford & Power, is returning to Smith River Fest this summer. The band is set to play from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Crawford & Power was born of red clay, back roads, calluses, and ingenuity passed down from mash makers. With roots in country, Americana, and southern rock, they seek to spawn a classic country music revival with a splash of sweet iced tea and whiskey. Their unique approach to a fading genre has been lauded as a breath of fresh air amidst the commercialization of sacred American music genres. The two have already opened for a variety of artists including The Marshall Tucker Band, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, High Valley, Joe Diffie and Jerry Douglas to name a few.

“We are excited to bring Crawford and Power back to Smith River Fest,” says Brad Kinkema, CEO & Executive Director of the Martinsville - Henry County YMCA. “We know that fans were disappointed after their show was rained out last year, so we wanted to try to make it happen again. If you have not heard Crawford and Power I encourage you to come out and see them August 10th.”

In addition to great music, the day will be filled with fun events such as the Smith River Boat Race, the Helgramite Hustle 5K Mud Run and the Kids Mini Mud Run. Other activities include the new Paddling Demo Pool presented by Sova Health, the Casting Pool, the Kids Cycling Station, fly tying demos and more! Smith River Fest will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Smith River Sports Complex, located at 1000 Irisburg Road in Axton, Virginia. Both admission and parking are free for this event.
