Piedmont Arts is now accepting applications for the Nicodemus Hufford Memorial Arts Scholarship and the Harold Knowlton Work Memorial Scholarship. The Nicodemus Hufford Memorial Arts Scholarship

Named in honor of famed portrait artist Nick Hufford, the Hufford Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Martinsville or Henry County or who attend a school located in Martinsville or Henry County and who plan to pursue a degree in the visual or performing arts at an accredited four-year institution. Hufford scholarships of up to $1,000 are available to this year’s scholarship recipients. Applicants are required to attend a personal interview with Piedmont Arts’ Scholarship Committee on Tuesday, May 17 at Piedmont Arts.

The Harold Knowlton Work Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is funded annually through the Harold Knowlton Work Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was established by Mr. Work's wife, Julia Ascough Work, to continue higher education studies in the arts. This generous memorial scholarship ensures that Howard and Julia's lifelong passion and respect for education and the arts continues through the support of artists of future generations. Work scholarships of up to $2,500 are available to this year's scholarship recipients. Applicants are required to attend a personal interview and audition with the Piedmont Arts’ Scholarship Committee on Tuesday, May 17 at Piedmont Arts.
