This February the Chamber Music Ensemble and the Smith River Singers are coming together to serenade Martinsville with a bouquet of classic love songs. On Sunday, February 11, the Chamber Music Ensemble – a company of professional, collegiate, and community musicians –are performing at 3 p.m. in Patrick Henry Community College’s Walker Fine Arts Theatre. The performance will feature a special guest appearance from Martinsville’s community choir, the Smith River Singers.

The concert will feature love songs from a variety genres including musical theater, television and movies, and hits from popular music. With a Russian flute aria, a Saxophone solo, a country-styled Lover's Waltz, and many others, the ensemble will explore musical expressions of romance.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Smith River Singers to present a romantic afternoon of music to Martinsville. With the amount of musical talent and experience in our two groups, this is sure to be an enchanting performance,” says the ensemble’s coordinator, Deborah Burgess.

Tickets will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $10. Student tickets are $5. For more information, contact PHCC at 276-638-8777.
