Martinsville Uptown hosts the 34th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 5th from 11:00am until 5:00pm.
Oktoberfest 2013 will bring over 230 vendors to the streets of Uptown Martinsville. The street festival will stretch from Bridge Street to Lester Street filling Church Street and Main Street as well. Vendors will be selling arts, crafts, home accessories, holiday items, jewelry, and much more.
The festival will contain an assortment of food vendors offering American, German, Turkish and Spanish cuisine. Attendees can also choose from a selection of carnival foods including snow cones, funnel cake, cotton candy, ice cream, and more. Samuel Adams and Lawrence Distributing will sponsor a craft beer garden in the Bridge Street parking lot.
The Oktoberfest is FREE family fun for everyone. Keep the kids entertained with a number of inflatables, Infinity Acres' petting zoo and face painting. The SPCA will also be hosting a haunted house on the second floor of 33 E. Church Street.
The Broad Street parking lot stage will offer a variety of entertainment. The Boys' and Girls' Club Steel Drum Band will perform at 11:00am. Strong hold, from Danville, will take the stage around 1:00pm. Martinsville High School Jazz Band will play at 2:00pm. They will be followed by the Triad Highlanders who will march up Church Street around 3:00pm. The last hour will be a talent show sponsored by Mtn Jax Pub & Restaurant. Contestants for the talent show have been preselected by Martinsville Uptown's Facebook fans. The winner will receive $250 courtesy of Mtn Jax Pub & Restaurant.

The Uptown Farmers' Market parking lot will be reserved for handicapped parking.
