Spend your Sunday at Patrick Henry Community College for “An Afternoon of Chamber Music.”
On Nov. 23 at 3 p.m., professional musicians and singers from across the region will perform the first concert in a new Chamber Recital Music series at PHCC’s Walker Theatre.
“We have selected an eclectic mix of compositions,” said Deborah Burgess, coordinator of the event and a performer. “Some of these are by well-known masters, and others are not quite as renown in hopes of exposing our audience to some of the lesser-known gems in the musical world.”
Musical selections include “Dido’s Lament” by Henry Purcell, “Der Hirt Auf Dem Felsen” by Franz Schubert, Prelude OP.20 #4 “How Insensitive” by Chopin/Jobim, “Blue Rondo Alla Turka” by Dave Brubeck and several others.
Admission is free, but a donation of $5 toward the program is encouraged. To find out more, visit www.patrickhenry.edu or call (276) 638-8777.
