Friday's Concert: Erin & The Wildfire on MHC Chamber Night

Erin & The Wildfire 

An awesome female-led rock band that's played both Lockn' and Floydfest makes its Martinsville debut this Friday, Jan. 15th, when Charlottesville's Erin & The Wildfire hits the stage for a show sponsored by the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce!

The Chamber of Commerce is distributing free tickets to its members in advance of the event. (If you're a Chamber member and interested in free tickets, email Sharon here). All Arts at the Rives 2016 Season Pass holders will get in free. Lastly, $5 tickets will be sold at the Piedmont Arts Association during Friday night's Members-Only Reception in honor of the exhibits, Fortune, Courage, Love: Arts of Africa’s Akan and Kuba Kingdoms from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Tickets are also available for $10 each from Woodall's, the Daily Grind or at the theatre's box office on show night. Doors to the theatre will open at 8 pm, and music will begin around 9 pm. 

Arts at the Rives Theatre (ART) is a 501c3 community-based nonprofit dedicated to maintaining and preserving the historic Rives Theatre while promoting music, arts and educational programming. The theatre was built in 1932 as a playhouse, then operated for more than 60 years as a first-run movie theatre. For more information about ART, visit www.rivestheatre.org.

Now Accepting Applications

The Martinsville Athletic Club is now accepting membership applications for 2016.The club meets to watch the biggest sporting events of the year on the Rives' big-screen (upper theater). Yearly dues are $100. Members can bring one guest for free to the Super Bowl party on Feb. 7th, which features open bar (liquor, beer wine) and covered dish food. Members also get free admission to the 24 sporting events shown on the big screen over the course of the year (college football and basketball, The Masters, NASCAR races, etc.). Members can bring unlimited guests to these events for a $5 cover charge per event. To request an application, or for more details, email Johnny.
