There's no better place than Martinsville to watch a Sprint Cup race. The action ... and there is plenty of action ... is almost close enough to touch.

"Whether you are a brand new race fan coming to your first race or and veteran fan coming for the 20th time, Martinsville Speedway is the greatest place to watch a race," said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. "Everywhere you look there is great racing going on. I know we are biased, but we think Martinsville offers fans the best action for your money."

The Virginia 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, the day after the Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. Sprint Cup Pole Day is Friday, April 5.

Two years ago there were 31 lead changes in the Virginia 500. Last spring saw a three-way battle for the lead entering the first turn on lap 498 that ended up with Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson spinning and Ryan Newman slipping through for the win. It was an incident that was talked about all season, and was a key reason behind Gordon's altercation with Bowyer at Phoenix in the next-to-last race of the season.

Ticket prices for the Virginia 500 start as low as $37. Tickets may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or by visiting www.martinsvillespeedway.com online.
