Godwin named "Influential Woman of Virginia"

Dr. Angeline Godwin, president of Patrick Henry Community College, has been named among the class of 2015 of Influential Women of Virginia.

This honor is given by Virginia Lawyers Media, publishers of Virginia Lawyers Weekly and the Virginia Medical Law Report.

“What a humbling experience to be recognized with a group of such extraordinary women in the Commonwealth,” Godwin said. “Our passion for the work we do, and the people and communities that we serve, truly gives us a common bond.  It is very special to be acknowledged for doing what you love and what you were born to do.”

Godwin, along with 39 other honorees, were celebrated at a dinner and ceremony on Thursday, May 7 at the Short Pump Hilton in Richmond. Each honoree also is profiled in a special publication inserted into Virginia Lawyers Weekly on May 11.

This awards program, now in its seventh year, recognizes the outstanding efforts of women in the commonwealth in all fields including law, business, health care, education and the arts. The honors are given to individuals making notable contributions to their chosen professions, their communities and society at large.
