Historic Aircraft Set To Fly Over Martinsville Speedway

History will come alive once again, both on the track and in the air, as Martinsville Speedway welcomes back The Warbirds Flyover Team for the Goody’s® Headache Relief Shot®  500 Oct. 26.

The Warbirds, a group of five former military pilots flying vintage post-World War II-type aircraft, will present the pre-race flyover.

“It just seems right having such historic aircraft flying over such a historic track,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “They have done a great job for us in the past and most importantly the fans enjoy seeing The Warbirds at Martinsville.”

The Warbirds have performed since 2009 at other sporting events, including the 2013 CokeZero 400 at Daytona International Speedway, the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins football games, and the Players Championship golf tournament.

The Warbirds are based out of the Southeast and are led by Henry K. “Hoot” Gibson, a former naval aviator and Gulf War veteran.

Advance ticket prices for the Goody’s® Headache Relief Shot® 500 begin at just $40.

Ticket prices increase the week of the race.
