Josh Shilling at the Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center

As a special Rooster Walk celebration, Josh Shilling will be at the state-certified Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center on Friday, May 26th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Shilling fans and music lovers are invited to spend the afternoon with us and meet Josh, get an autograph and even join in a jam session! If you play an instrument, bring it along!

Versatile singer/songwriter Josh Shilling boasts an impressive combination of experience and musicianship. Shilling's musical forays have been diverse and considerable, ranging from jazz and soul ensembles to Americana and contemporary country, jam-band, bluegrass and folk projects.

A Martinsville, Virginia native, he began playing the piano at a mere 7 years old. As a child, he matured into a skilled pianist and Hammond B3 player whose voracious musical study allowed him to authentically portray the style and feel needed for nearly all genres. Shilling also developed steadily as a guitarist, while honing his songwriting and natural emotional vocal ability, which has become his calling card.

Shilling, Artist at Large at this year’s Rooster Walk 9, will be sitting in with various bands throughout the Memorial Day Weekend Festival.

Beth Stinnett, Assistant Tourism Director and Film Office Coordinator, says “We wanted to take this opportunity and connect our music fans with a local favorite artist. Not only will fans get to listen to Josh play, but they can join in too. We are very proud of Josh, Rooster Walk and the Martinsville-Henry County music scene.”
