Local Author Hosts Book Signing
Just in time for the holiday season, local author Mary Clark Dalton has a new book sure to delight readers of all ages. On Saturday, December 19, the Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center invites guests to enjoy a reading and signing event for Dalton’s "Tiny the Tree: A Christmas Story."
Tiny is the tale of the smallest Christmas tree on the farm that longs to go home with someone and decorate their house for Christmas. Tiny watches as tree after tree leaves the farm and wonders if he will be the last tree standing on Christmas morning. The story follows the tree as he discovers that Christmas is more than fancy decorations and expensive presents.
This is Dalton’s second signing event for the book in her home community. She will be at the Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to speak with guests and sign copies of her books. During the event, cookies and hot cocoa will be served and staff from the VisitMartinsville team will read “Tiny the Tree: A Christmas Story” to guests present at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The event is free to attend. Dalton will have copies of “Tiny the Tree: A Christmas Story” available for purchase along with books from her Rainbow Series. Other holiday gift options will also be available during the event as well. Members of the Martinsville-Henry County Garden Clubs will be present to sell advance tickets to the 2016 Historic Garden Week Tour.
The Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center is located inside the New College Institute at the corner of Church and Moss Streets. For additional information on this and other events, go to VisitMartinsville.com or call 276.632.8006.
