Martinsville Mustangs 2013 Promotional Schedule

The Martinsville Mustangs announced today their promotional schedule for the 2013 season. The schedule is highlighted by "Dig for the Diamond Night" on Saturday, July 27th. Working with Eden Jewelry, fans will come down after the game to dig for a diamond ring buried in the in-field, with the person who finds it taking home a sparkling diamond ring!

"It's going to be crazy, we can't wait to get all the fans out on the field for this insane experience," said Mustangs GM Tyler Parsons. "This is a ring that will be valued at $2,500 and it's beautiful!"

In addition to Dig for the Diamond, the Mustangs are also hosting "World Record High-Five Night" on July 20th, when Parsons will go for the Guinness World Record for most high-fives given in one hour. The current record was set in New Jersey in 2012 when Ian Moritz racked up 1,739 high-fives in one hour.

"This is going to be a community record, I want to put Martinsville on the map and what better way to achieve that then dishing out some high-fives," exclaimed Parsons. "No pun intended to our mascot MO, but I'm chomping at the bit to high-five all of our fans and set the record. There is zero doubt in my mind that this record can be set!"

All new this season will be the first ever "Kids Run the Ballpark Night" on June 8th. Teaming up with the CenturyLink, the Mustangs will select kids to run all operations at the stadium including Coach, Announcer, GM, Grounds Crew, Director of Promotions, Ticket Takers and Concessions.
