Meet Rhonda Hodges

Meet a Martinsville Insider, Rhonda Hodges.  Rhonda has a true passion for people and loves working at Patrick Henry Community College where she is the Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education. She has been working there for 10 years and really enjoys working with different programs for employers.  Her latest project is The Artisan Center which has a focus on turning a person's passion for art into an entrepreneurial activity.  Here are Rhonda's tips for enjoying Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia.

Where do you go to enjoy sports and recreation?

"My family enjoys walking and biking all of the beautiful trails [including Dick and WillieFieldale Trail, and PHCC Loop Trail] that we have in the area."

What's the best part of raising a family in Martinsville-Henry County?

"The best part of raising a family in Martinsville-Henry County is the pace and quality of life.  I believe my children are receiving a strong education in our public school system, and they stay busy with after-school activities, dance, and church activities.  There is much to do in Martinsville-Henry County and we are busy most every weekend."

Where do you go to enjoy Martinsville-Henry County's arts-and-entertainment scene?

"I enjoy the beautiful, hand-crafted work of artisans on display at The Artisan Center, which is a program of Patrick Henry Community College.  My children also enjoyed taking classes and summer camps there.  We also enjoy the plays and programs of Theatre Works and Piedmont Arts."
