Meet Tommy Harris

Meet a Martinsville Insider, Tommy Harris.  The Vice President of Virginia Blower Company, Tommy has been with the company for 36 years. Tommy is very active in the community with the 500 Committee (at Martinsville Speedway), president of the Lake Lanier association, and is a board member of various organizations.  Even though he is busy with his company and organizations, he makes sure he spends time doing his favorite hobby, motorcycling.  Here are some of Tommy's tips for enjoying Martinsville- Henry County, Virginia.

What is the best kept secret in Martinsville- Henry County?

"As a motorcycle rider, it is a real treat to have more than 600 miles of secondary/ backroads to ride, in Henry County alone.  Many have views of farms, mountains, and the Smith River.  Check out the beauty of our area, on the road less traveled." 

What's the best part of raising a family in Martinsville- Henry County?

"Small town values and caring people, along with great weather make our area a very special place to live." 

Where do you go to enjoy Martinsville- Henry County's arts-and-entertainment scene?

"The Artisan Center is a wonderful place to visit and spend some time.  And for entertainment we are blessed to have the Black Box Theatre and fun events like T.G.I.F., which myself and my wife, Yvonne, attend often." 

What is the most interesting tidbit about Virginia Blower Company?

"People think of us as an HVAC contractor for local residents.  But in fact, our industrial air pollution division performs work over a several state area." 

What are your top Martinsville- Henry County dining spots and why?

"Any of the great Mexican restaurants [such as El Parral, El Ranchito, and Los Nortenos to name a few]Wild Magnolia for a fun atmosphere and Fieldale Cafe for good food and good conversation."
