More Musicians to Perform at Turn 5

Area favorites Montana Young and Dean Smith have been added to the lineup of musical acts for this weekend's Turn 5 Concert Series near Martinsville Speedway.

Young is no stranger to live performance. Since the age of 7, the Patrick County native has been entertaining audiences with her prowess in classical and fiddle styles.

In addition to performances throughout her home state, Montana's music-related travels have taken her to New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Scotland and many other places.

In Richmond, at the age of 15, she entertained the Queen of England in honor of the 400th anniversary of Jamestown's establishment. Lately, Montana has been touring Virginia and Southeastern Pennsylvania with Smith, who will join her for their Saturday night set, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Single-day tickets cost $10 each, and two-night tickets are $15 each. Tickets can be purchased at area Taco Bell stores or online at www.roosterwalk.com. Tickets also will be sold at the gate on Friday and Saturday.

Friday's music will start at 5 p.m. with Martinsville favorites Broken Glass, followed by Fatz. Country star John Anderson will headline the night's lineup with a set that begins at 9 p.m.

Saturday's music will start at 6 p.m. with Young and Smith. Local band Rebel Guns will play at 7:30 p.m., and rising Nashville star Jaida Dreyer will headline the evening with a 9 p.m. set.

Organized by producers of the Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival, the "Turn 5 Concerts" will raise money for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, the Sprint Cup pole winner's charity of choice and Carlisle School. The two-night event, which will take place on Clover Road property adjacent to the speedway's campground entrance, was made possible through the generous support of more than a dozen area businesses.

Fifty percent of concert proceeds will be donated to the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, which provides a network of community-based services designed to help Virginia veterans and their families overcome the challenges of stress-related and traumatic brain injuries. Twenty-five percent of proceeds will go to the pole winner's charity of choice, while 25 percent will go to Carlisle School, which typically parks cars on the property as a fundraiser for the school.

Special parking areas, located within a short walk of the venue, will be reserved for music fans who drive to the show.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs; coolers and outside drinks will not be permitted. Taco Bell food and Miller Lite products will be sold inside the venue.
