Mustangs to Raise $10,000 for Non-Profits

The Martinsville Mustangs announced today their plans to raise $10,000 for area non-profits. Making a positive impact in the community is a major priority for the team, and this will mark the first fundraising program of its kind offered by the Mustangs.

The program called F.A.M. stands for fundraising, awareness and momentum, and it has been highly successful with the Gastonia Grizzlies and Forest City Owls, the two other organizations managed by Team Cole and Associates.

The F.A.M. program gives area non-profits the opportunity to purchase tickets at a special rate and sell them throughout the community.  In addition to the fundraising tickets, groups that team up with the Mustangs will now have the opportunity to lead the 50/50 raffle at the ballpark.  The program also gives non-profits a presence at Hooker Field throughout their night to gain awareness and start momentum for their cause.

"This is an amazing program that has a proven track record of success," said General Manager Tyler Parsons. "Already the reception from non-profits has been incredible, and we couldn't be more excited! The FAM program is a great opportunity for non-profits to really get their name out there and get exposure for their great causes. This is something we are incredibly passionate about, and we can't wait to get more non-profits involved."

Last season the Grizzlies and Owls finished 6th and 7th in the country in attendance, as both franchises averaged over 2,000 fans per game. Similar goals are set for the Mustangs in their first year under Team Cole & Associates, and the large crowds will provide the perfect canvas for non-profits to showcase their causes.

Team Cole and Associates assumed control of the Mustangs in December, and the team has already partnered with numerous non-profits from the Boys and Girls Club, United Way and SPCA to the Dan River Association, YMCA and Piedmont Arts.

"The United Way is excited to partner with the Martinsville Mustangs as part of this new initiative," added United Way Executive Director Tiffani Underwood. "This is a win-win for area non-profits as well as the Mustangs and an exciting way for the public to learn more about opportunities to get involved in the community."

Dates are filling up fast, so non-profits are encouraged to call the Mustangs office at (276) 403-5250 for more information. You can also email GM Tyler Parsons at Tyler@MartinsvilleMustangs.com or Director of Fun Emily McDonald at Emily@MartinsvilleMustangs.com.
