NCBA DI Baseball Comes to Hooker Field

This weekend Hooker Field in Martinsville, Virginia will host the National Club Baseball Association’s (NCBA) Mid-Atlantic Division I Regional Championship. This double-elimination tournament will determine which team travels to the NCBA World Series in Paducah, Kansas.

 

Four college club baseball teams will participate in the three-day tournament and all athletes will stay locally at the Quality-Dutch Inn of Collinsville, which was selected by the NCBA as their host hotel.

 

On Friday, May 8, Ohio University will play against University of Maryland at 4 p.m. and East Carolina University will play against James Madison University at 7 p.m. Additional games will be played on Saturday, May 9 at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The final game will be played on Sunday, May 10 at 9 a.m. and an additional game is schedule from 12 p.m., if needed.

 

Admission is $5 on Friday, $10 on Saturday and $5 on Sunday. A money-saving tournament pass may be purchased for $12. The public is invited to attend and area youth wearing t-ball / baseball jerseys to Hooker Field will get free admission with a paying adult. The Martinsville Community Recreation Association will sell concessions and all proceeds from ticket sales and concessions will benefit Hooker Field. The Martinsville-Henry County Tourism Division will sell area souvenirs and provide visitor information to guests. Fans will not be allowed to bring outside food or beverages into the stadium.
