Below is a list of local events that will surely suit your interest.

Blue Ridge Regional Library (Ridgeway location) - 

When - December 31, 2019. 11:30 a.m. 

Staying up until midnight is not an option for everyone - especially when you get cranky after 9:00 p.m. We're going to count down until noon during this kid-friendly party, so no one misses out on the fun of ringing in the new year. Featuring a climatic beach ball drop, bubbles, dancing, crafts, snack and more! Because New Year's isn't just for grown-ups.

New Year's Eve Celebration at Fairy Stone State Park –

When - December 31, 2019. 9:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.

Where could be a more natural place to celebrate the dawning of the New Year than in a park? The 8th Annual New Year's Eve Celebration at Fairy Stone State Park will once again be held in Fayerdale Hall beginning at 9:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. You and your friends can dance, laugh, and ring the new year in to the sounds of a local DJ. Party favors and refreshments provided. Punch will be available for the midnight toast or you may bring your own adult beverage (beer or wine only please). $15/person.

You can pay at the door for the event, but pre-registration is preferred. To pre-register for this event, please call the park office. This event is not recommended for children.

Rent a cabin (2-night minimum requirement) and enjoy Fairy Stone’s annual First Day Hike event on the New Year’s Day, January 1, 2020.

New Year’s Eve 2020 at Mountain Valley Artisan Barn –

When - December 31, 2019.  7:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

Join Mountain Valley Artisan Barn for a New Year’s Eve Party that you won’t forget! Admission is $50/couple ($25/single) includes live entertainment from Pine Moon and our MVAB house DJ, buffet and drinks.  Call or text for reservations 276-220-6591. Party starts @ 7:00 p.m.

Wild Magnolia - 

When - December 31,2019. 10:00 p.m. - until

We're Roarin' into the 20's with our New Year's Eve Bash at Wild Magnolia! Why not spend the last party of the decade at your favorite restaurant and bar? NO COVER! DJ! DANCING! DELICIOUS FOOD & DRINKS!

Sportlanes New Year’s Party –

When – December 31, 2019. 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Ring in the new year with live music featuring the Phat Boyz Band. There will be a $5 cover charge.

Shindig New Year’s Eve Party –

When – December 31, 2019.

Join Shindig in uptown Martinsville for their New Year’s Party. There will be a DJ, good company, great food and free champagne at midnight.

New Year’s Day First Day Hike at Fairy Stone State Park –

When - January 1, 2020. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Fairy Stone State Park’s First Day Hike to the Spillway. This is a free event to attend. Join the park's interpreter for a campfire before departing down Lake Shore trail to the spillway. The hike is approximately 1 mile.

Henry County Bike Club’s New Year’s Day Ride, Run or Walk -

When – January 1, 2020. 10:30 a.m. - until

Mark your calendars for the HCBC's New Year's Day Ride, Run or Walk at the Chain of Fools bike shop. The doors open at 10:30 a.m. on 1/1/2020, and the ride, run or walk goes off at 11 a.m. This is a fun event to kick off the New Year getting outside. There will be coffee at Chain of Fools, and we will meet at Hugo's after. This is always a fun-filled event with really good fellowship! Make sure to bring some canned or non-perishable foods to donate to the Grace Network!
