Patriot Players Announce Next Season With Sneak Peeks

With over 1000 rehearsals, 200 performances, and 27 shows, Patrick Henry Community College’s performing arts troupe, the Patriot Players have come to their sixth season. During a Season Announcement Event on Thursday, the Patriot Players revealed which shows they have chosen for Season VI.

Devin Pendleton, the Patriot Players’ Artistic Director said “I am so excited. We have three shows that everyone can wrap their arms around. Season six is going to bring the best of Broadway to the foothills of Virginia. The final show of this season is going to be the Patriot Player’s thirtieth show, so you can expect a spectacle! This show is sure to bring our entire community together for family theatre at its best.”

Season VI includes:

"Annie" which will run from November 29 through December 9.

"Mamma Mia!" which will run from April 25 through May 5.

"Beauty and the Beast" which will run from July 18 through July 28.

After each show was announced, a Patriot Player performed a sneak preview. Anna Locklear and her dog Kasha performed "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie." Michelle Graham performed "Dancing Queen" from the musical "Mamma Mia!"  After a quick costume change, Graham joined Isaiah Young to perform "Tale as Old as Time" from "Beauty and the Beast."

Auditions for the first show, "Annie," will take place around the third week of September. Pendleton noted that he welcomes and encourages anyone to get involved with the performing arts at PHCC. The theatre is always accepting new talent, stagehands, and crew.
