PHCC is Ready to Jazz up the Holiday Season

Patrick Henry Community College’s (PHCC) jazz band is teaming up with the Laurel Park Middle school jazz band to present a Big Band style holiday concert Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in PHCC’s Frith Exhibit Hall. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are accepted.

“We’ve got some of the best musicians in our area,” says PHCC’s band director Kevin Lewis. “I am so proud of my students – all are aspiring musicians who have been working for months to prepare a show to put you in the holiday spirit.”

PHCC’s jazz band is comprised of students from PHCC’s Music Specialization academic program as well as music enthusiasts from the student body and the community. The program provides students with a competitive and performing musical outlet during their interim years between high school and a four-year university.
