PHCC’s new classes offer unique opportunities for the hobbyist and the curious
Patrick Henry Community College is offering a gamut of new short-term classes for those seeking to discover a new hobby or further cultivate skills.
Dancers have several opportunities coming up this spring from Latin dancing to line dancing. Latin dancers meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Classes are $30. Line dancers meet on Thursdays: the beginners’ class at 6 p.m. and the advance class at 7:15 p.m. Classes are $25.
Latin Dance Workshop, March 29 – May 3.
Beginner Line Dance, March 30 – April 27.
Line Dance Level II, March 30-April 27.
PHCC’s popular cake-decorating class is back this spring. This two-week course is taught by professional baker Colleen Butker on Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Including supply fee, the class costs $75.
Cake Decorating, March 23 – April 6
For stained glass lovers, Instructor Lynn Berry is providing a four-week Intermediate stained glass course. Students will discover a variety of stained glass techniques, delve into stained glass history, and produce more complex stained glass projects.
Intermediate Stained Glass, March 22 – April 19
Explore the storytelling history of the Native American culture with instructor Renea Wagoner. This two-week course reveals how story-telling can be a pathway to discover and preservation. The class costs $25.
Genealogy Through Storytelling, March 29 – April 5
