Piedmont Arts Establishes Fund in Memory of Alison Parker

In memory of Alison Bailey Parker, Piedmont Arts has established a fund to support Piedmont Arts On Stage performances by one of Alison’s favorite dance company’s, Richmond Ballet.

Alison was an avid and talented dancer and loved to participate in and support the performing arts, especially in her hometown of Martinsville-Henry County. According to Alison’s mother, Piedmont Arts Director of Programs Barbara Parker, “Alison loved the ballet and she had a great deal of respect for the Richmond Ballet.” As a student in Martinsville schools, Alison also participated in Richmond Ballet’s Minds In Motion, a dance and movement program brought to Martinsville-Henry County through Piedmont Arts’ educational outreach program.

“The Alison Bailey Parker Memorial Fund is a way to honor Alison by bringing high-quality performances by Richmond Ballet to our community for years to come,” said Executive Director Kathy Rogers. “Through this fund, Piedmont Arts hopes to impart Alison’s love of dance and the performing arts to new generations."
