Piedmont Arts Opens Retail Gallery for Studio 107 Artists

A retail gallery for the sell of work by Studio 107 artists has been installed at Piedmont Arts, offering patrons a new way to experience local arts.

"We are so excited about the newly created Studio 107 Gallery," said Carolyn Beale, Studio 107 coordinator. "It is the perfect way to increase awareness of the fabulous work created by our Studio 107 artists."

The Studio 107 Gallery features pieces in a variety of media by the 14 artists who work out of Studio 107 Artist Studios for Piedmont Arts, located in Uptown Martinsville. All work in the gallery is for sale and proceeds directly benefit the local artists who created the work.

"The Studio 107 Gallery is a tremendous asset to the Piedmont Arts galleries," said Bernadette Moore, Piedmont Arts director of marketing and public relations. "It allows work by Studio 107 artists to be seen outside their Uptown base and hopefully will lead to increased traffic at both locations."

A grand opening for the Studio 107 Gallery will be held on July 20 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Piedmont Arts, in conjunction with the opening of the exhibits Subtle, featuring works by Jesi Pace-Berkeley and Small Narrow Pieces of a Big Wide World, featuring works by Greg Arens. Please RSVP attendance to 276.632.3221 or online at www.piedmontarts.org.

Studio 107 Artist Studios for Piedmont Arts was founded in 2007 as a working studio for local artists. Housed in a spacious building in historic Uptown Martinsville, a community of visual artists at various levels in their professional careers work in this collective space. Visitors are encouraged to watch the artists at work and browse the gallery shop for original artwork and gifts. More information at www.PiedmontArts.org/Studio107.
