Romantic Getaway in MHC

As a couple, spending quality time together away from the realities of everyday life is important for every relationship. If you need a relaxing, fun weekend together, we have a guide for you to have a perfect weekend with that special someone!

Day One: Once you get off work Friday afternoon and you are ready to get your weekend started, head on up to Fairy Stone State Park to check into your private cabin for the next two nights. Once you have settled in, you are going to need a warm meal to fill your belly. Head on out to Uptown Martinsville to eat at 3rd Bay for great food and fun with your partner. On your way back to the cabin, swing by Cocoa Trail Chocolates for some sweets and then stop at the Philpott Lake Overlook to watch the sun go down over the water while cuddled up with your loved one.

Day Two: When you wake up Saturday morning, whip up a yummy breakfast in the cabin, put on your hiking shoes, and head out to the trails. You can hike up to Little Mountain Falls and see the beauty of our hometown gem as you hike. After you come back down and take a quick shower, have a nice lunch at Najjar’s Pizza Haven before heading to the Village Spa to get your couples massage. Once you finish your massages, grab some coffee and a cookie for your sweetie at Sweet Cakes Bakery. You can then explore Uptown Martinsville’s most unique and cute shops such as Books and Crannies, Studio 107, Fido’s Finds, Sparkle Me Pretty, and so much more! Don’t forget to stop in at Simply the Best Flowers & Gifts to pick up a beautiful bouquet to surprise your loved one before a romantic dinner at Rania’s Italian Restaurant featuring live piano music! Finish up an eventful day with a frozen treat from Livy’s Ice Cream Shop before heading back to your home-like retreat at Fairy Stone!

Day Three: The last day of your romantic getaway can be just as fun as the others! Once you’ve left your quaint cabin on the lake, grab your bikes or head to The Bike Barn to borrow some bikes and explore nature on the Dick & Willie Passage Rail Trail. After enjoying your time with both the beauty of our town and your sweetie, enjoy a great lunch at Chopstix Asian Restaurant. You can then play a few games of bowling at Sportlanes Bowling before finishing off a fantastic weekend with a picnic at Jack Dalton Park with food from Walsh’s Chicken & More!
