Studio 107 Launches New Brochure

The Martinsville-Henry County EDC's Tourism & Film Division and Piedmont Arts are pleased to announce the launch of a new brochure promoting Studio 107, the Artist Studios for Piedmont Arts. This communal studio space in Uptown Martinsville is a popular attraction for visitors and a fun place to shop for unique gifts, jewelry and art.

The brochure which was designed by Bernadette Moore of Piedmont Arts tells about all aspects of the studio including mediums of art found there, classes offered and how aspiring artists can rent spaces at the facility. The brochure also features information on the First Friday Art Walk program held each month and highlights Uptown businesses which have committed to staying open later, until 7 p.m. during Art Walk.

"We hope the new brochure will draw visitors to Studio 107 and encourage participation in First Friday Art Walk," said Moore. "The arts are an important part of the revitalization of Uptown and Studio 107 and other arts-related organizations are helping to boost cultural tourism to the area."

Piedmont Arts and Studio 107 jointly applied for a Tourism Marketing Grant from the EDC in the fall of 2011 to acquire matching funds for the printing of the brochure. The grant program funds 50% of approved marketing project costs up to $1,000. The brochure was printed locally by Quality Printing of Martinsville.

According to Carolyn Beale, Coordinator for Studio 107, "We are so appreciative of the grant assistance provided to us by the EDC. The brochure turned out beautifully and will help draw additional visitors to our location as well as expand our local customer base."

Both Studio 107 and Piedmont Arts have taken advantage of the EDC Tourism Division's complementary distribution service so their brochures are on display at various locations across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

According to Jennifer Doss, Director of Tourism for Martinsville-Henry County, "Seeing the artists at work is a popular area attraction and is a frequently requested stop on the bus tours we lead in Martinsville-Henry County. With a high-quality brochure like this, Studio 107 has a chance to capture an even larger audience."

Studio 107, located at 105 East Church Street in Martinsville, is home to fourteen artists who specialize in stained glass, jewelry, oil & acrylic painting, fiber arts, turned woods, fused glass, watercolors, note cards, ceramics and more.
