The Color Purple Cast Slated to Serve Dinner at Wild Magnolia

Jazz up dinnertime with the Patriot Players from Patrick Henry Community College on Thursday, June 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wild Magnolia in Martinsville. The cast of this summer’s production, The Color Purple, will perform jazz, R&B, and Motown while serving.

This month’s singing fundraiser is themed “Harpo’s Juke Joint” after the establishment in the story where Shug sang during its opening night. All tips to the singing wait staff support the Patriot Players–PHCC’s theater troupe that offers local students and community members the opportunity to gain onstage experience while learning about the theater profession. This year alone, Patriot Players and Wild Magnolia have teamed up to raise approximately $2000 during monthly fundraisers. “We’re grateful to Wild Magnolia for generously allowing us to come and do this event.” Pendleton said. "All you have to do is come and eat, and you’re supporting the performing arts and our locally owned businesses.”
