TheatreWorks Community Players to Perform

Alfred Uhry's production of Driving Miss Daisy is set in the deep south, prior to the civil rights movement. The play highlights the experiences of Hoke, Daisy, and Boolie spanning several decades starting in 1948. Daisy, an elderly Jewish woman in her 70s, is resigned to needing a driver after her son, Boolie, discovers her most recent car wrecked. Thus enters Hoke, who becomes the steadfast chaffeur for Daisy. Over the years, prejudices are brought to light and views re-examined as Daisy and Hoke's lives become intertwined.
