Three Receive Tourism Ambassador Certification

The Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation’s (EDC) Tourism Division is pleased to announce that three more area residents have completed requirements to become Martinsville-Henry County Tourism Ambassadors. Craig “Rocky” Rockwell, Operations Project Manager for USACE Philpott Lake, Marshall Thomas, Security Supervisor for New College Institute, and Christina Byrd, Paleontology Technician at Virginia Museum of Natural History, are the newest recipients of this title.

The Martinsville-Henry County Tourism Ambassador program was created to train local residents to become community ambassadors that can positively represent the Martinsville-Henry County area. A series of requirements was developed so that those receiving certification can develop knowledge of area amenities and exceed expectations when interacting with visitors to the community. Many tourism volunteer opportunities are available such as photography, writing, assisting visitors to the community at the MHC Visitor Center and more.
