Uptown Farmers' Market to open May 12th

The Uptown Martinsville Farmers' Market will officially open Saturday, May 12th at 7am. The Market carries a variety of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, grass fed beef, farm fresh eggs, forest-raised pork, seafood, plants, flowers, jams & jellies, and occasional crafts.

The Market, which is managed by Martinsville Uptown, will be open on Saturdays during the early season from 7am-11am. As the produce quantities increase, the Market will open three days a week ~ Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7am-11am.

Tasty Saturdays are scheduled the third Saturday of June through September. Tasty Saturdays showcase one vendor who will offer special samples to the public.

• June 16th will feature Lephia Jennings and her outstanding baked goods ~ various breads, homemade rolls, cakes, cookies and more. 
•  July 21st will be a combination Tasty Saturday with Tuggle Farm and Windy Ridge Farm. They will offer salsa, jams, honey, homemade breads, Scotch Eggs & Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding. 
• August 18th will feature Rising Sun Breads and her assortment of wonderful baked goods ~ bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones & more.  
• September 15th will feature Leah Ballance of L&F Farms with her bacon and onion cabbage wraps grilled right at the Market.

The Market will hold its Season Kick-off Celebration on Saturday, June 16th. Weather permitting, produce should be in abundance and all vendor tables should be full. Stop by to meet and greet with the farmers. There are many returning vendors and quite a few new faces as well.
