Jay Hudson is a third generation beekeeper with 16 years of experience in beekeeping. In this program Jay will review a brief history of the art of beekeeping, the importance of honeybees in our ecosystem, the roles of bees within the colony, the components of a beehive, and the challenges beekeepers face today. The mountains in both Henry and Patrick Counties are part of a unique honey production region. There may even be a couple of varieties of honey from this area for tasting! This program will be Tuesday, October 14, and will begin at 10:30am.
This program which is free and open to the public will be held in the Susan L. Adkins Memorial Meeting Room.
