Teams of local celebrities compete in Dancing for the Arts on March 14

February 17, 2026

Dancing for the Arts, the fabulous fundraiser for Piedmont Arts, returns to the stage at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at Martinsville High School Auditorium.

In this dazzling, high-energy dance competition, teams of local celebrities and community leaders compete in support of Piedmont Arts and the arts in Martinsville-Henry County. Each dance team will take the stage to perform two show-stopping routines, one assigned dance and one freestyle dance of their choice, all in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges.

The teams, their assigned dances, and coaches are:

  • Katie Adkins and Brandon Johnson will perform the waltz. Their coach is Victoria Howard.
  • Shan‘Tyia Hairston and Maurice Breedlove will perform the cha-cha. Their coach is Janeka Hairston.
  • Tiffanie Hairston and Brian Hairston will perform the tango. Their coach is Stacey Davis.
  • Sarah Hodges and Kasey Lucas will perform the quickstep. Their coach is Catherine Rodenbaugh.
  • Elizabeth Huerta and Alfredo Huerta will perform the salsa. Their coach is Catherine Rodenbaugh.
  • Margie Price-Savedge and Christopher Janey will perform a swing dance. Their coach is Jane Leizer.
  • Shatera Robertson and Louis Norton will perform the foxtrot. Their coach is Stacey Davis.
  • Melissa White and Al Herndon will perform the rumba. Their coach is Jane Leizer.

Dancing for the Arts is more than just glitz and glamour. It’s a fun way to support the arts in the community. Leading up to and during the event, members of the public are encouraged to vote ($1 = 1 vote) for their favorite teams to help them place higher in the competition and raise funds for Piedmont Arts programming.

Each team’s final score is a combination of votes and the judges’ scores during the competition. The team with the highest final score wins the grand prize.

Each vote ensures that every twirl, lift, and step helps raise awareness and critical funds for Piedmont Arts and the exhibits, events, and educational programs it brings to Martinsville-Henry County.

Online voting and in-person voting at Piedmont Arts are open until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13. Visit PiedmontArts.org to vote online. In-person voting will be open during the event on March 14 in the lobby of Martinsville High School.

Tickets to the event are $30 for reserved seating, $20 for general admission, and $10 for students in grades K-12. Tickets are on sale now at Piedmont Arts and PiedmontArts.org.
