Get ready for a fun-filled weekend packed with movies, music, family activities, outdoor adventures, and plenty of ways to enjoy time together in Martinsville-Henry County!
Friday evening, we’ll wrap up this year’s Movies in the Park series with a showing of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants at Jack Dalton Park on our giant outdoor screen. The fun begins at 7:00 p.m. with music, family bingo, and games, followed by the movie at 8:45 p.m.
Admission is free, and snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a fun night under the stars! And don’t let a little rain stop you—Movies in the Park are now rain or shine. If needed, we can turn the screen around and enjoy the movie under the shelter.
Then, Saturday brings the 18th Annual Smith River Fest at the Smith River Sports Complex from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. With free admission and parking, it’s the perfect way to spend the day enjoying the Smith River and celebrating all the outdoor fun our community has to offer.
There will be something for everyone, including:
- Free river tubing
- Mud run and boat race
- Food trucks and vendors
- Magic show
- Concert and beer garden
- Rock wall and bounce houses
- Petting zoo
