Don’t miss Franks + Dranks on Friday!

Franks + Dranks
6-9 p.m., Friday, July 18, Art Garden
Kick back at Piedmont Arts’ annual summer cookout and concert!
Jake Earles will bring a mix of country, Americana, folk and soul to the stage. A singer and guitar player from Axton, Va., Earles spent 20 years living in Nashville, Tenn., playing everywhere from honky tonks to the Grand Ole Opry.
Enjoy a meal of hot dogs and fixings whipped up by local all-star chefs Shane Pinkston and Will Gravely, as well as chips, cookies, soft drinks and water. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the cash bar.
Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. In the event of inclement weather, Franks + Dranks will be held at Piedmont Arts.
Admission is $20 per person and includes food.

Expressions 2025
On view through July 25
This annual open-entry exhibition presented by Lynwood Artists and Piedmont Arts features work by 117 artists from Southern Virginia and the surrounding regions.
Visit the museum to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Voting is open through July 25.

Expressions Artwork Pick Up
10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, July 26, Piedmont Arts
Artists with work on display in Expressions 2025 should pick up their work between 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, July 26 at Piedmont Arts.

Piedmont Arts will not assume responsibility for artwork that is left in the gallery after the designated pick up date. Any artwork (including that which has been purchased) will be resold, donated or otherwise removed from the premises if unclaimed after 30 days. All work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.

Exhibit Opening Reception
5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, Piedmont Arts
Join Piedmont Arts for an opening reception in honor of its new exhibits. A gallery talk will be held at 6:15 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

• In a Different Light: Photographs by Russell Hart
• Eyes on the Wild: Photography by Artemisia Blankenship

Ahoy, Mateys! Pirate Family Day
10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, Art Garden
Set sail on the high seas of fun at this pirate-themed Family Day from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16 in the Art Garden. Enjoy music by Pirates of the Piedmont, fun crafts with Heart to Art Creative Corner, games and snacks.

All ages are welcome. Admission is free.

Savory September: Wild, Wild West
6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, Piedmont Arts
Get ready to boot scootin’ boogie at this Wild West-themed fundraiser for the arts.
Kick up your boot heels to live country and western music by Matt Boswell, sample themed dishes and custom cocktails prepared by local chefs and take part in the 50/50 raffle for a chance to win big.
Admission tickets are $50 per person and include food and drinks. Raffle tickets are $20 each or $100 for six. Raffle tickets will be available soon at Piedmont Arts.
