VisitMartinsville is thrilled to announce that our very own Kelly Rowland has been selected to join the inaugural class of the Virginia Association of Destination Marketing Organizations (VADMO) Tourism Leadership Institute (VTLI).
This prestigious new program aims to develop the next generation of tourism leaders across the Commonwealth, and we are incredibly proud that Kelly will be representing Martinsville and Henry County.
Kelly Rowland
Tourism Marketing & Client Relations Manager
The VTLI, created in partnership with the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) and certified by the University of Lynchburg Professional Development Institute, provides participants with the opportunity to earn the Certified Virginia Tourism Professional (CVTP) designation. This innovative program blends tourism expertise with leadership theory, business strategy, and community development, equipping participants with the skills needed to advance their careers and drive success in the tourism industry.
Kelly’s selection is a testament to her dedication, talent, and commitment to making Martinsville a vibrant destination. Over the next year, she will engage in a series of in-person sessions held across Virginia, including immersive learning experiences in leadership, communication, advocacy, financial management, and strategic planning. This initiative will not only enhance her professional skills but will also bring valuable insights and best practices back to our community.
“We are so proud of Kelly’s accomplishment,” said Sarah Hodges, Director of Tourism & Talent Development. “Her participation in the VTLI will allow us to further elevate our tourism efforts, build stronger state-wide partnerships, and continue to showcase Martinsville and Henry County as a must-visit destination.”
As Kelly embarks on this journey, she will join a dynamic group of tourism professionals dedicated to shaping the future of the industry in Virginia. Her participation in VTLI underscores VisitMartinsville’s commitment to professional growth, leadership development, and community impact.
