What’s Happening at SPC?

Spencer-Penn Pop-up Market- Thursday, July 9th and July 23rd from 4 to 6 p.m.! Join us for a fun evening as we say hello to summer. The afternoon will include market vendors, food trucks, and more! This will be completely free and an opportunity to grab some fresh veggies and other homemade items. Vendors may register by contacting spencerpenn04@gmail.com

VA 250 Presentation- Thursday, July 9th after the farmer’s market at 6 p.m.! In early 1781, the fate of the American Revolution in the South hung in the balance. As British forces relentlessly pursued General Nathanael Greene’s army across Virginia and North Carolina, a dramatic campaign of maneuver, endurance, and determination unfolded. 

Music Night – Friday, July 10th. Ben & Eric Marshall will play in the Alumni Hall. Gate opens at 5 pm, band starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a $5 CASH donation. Come enjoy some great mountain music and dancing! Concessions, including our ever-popular Spencer Penn hot dogs, will be sold. 

Storytime! – Saturday, July 11th, at 10 a.m. in the Hylton Library. This monthly program will include special readers, crafts, and other fun activities.  Come out and join us for this free program, fit for all ages!  No registration needed

Kindergarten Boot Camp- Saturday, July 11th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Our free kindergarten boot camp will help rising kindergartners prepare for their new experience. This program is open to all rising kindergartners, but will be especially helpful for those who have not experienced a pre-k program in the public school system.  There’s still time to register! https://forms.gle/VX41MEraxL69EPuk8

Eating Well Class “Making It Last”- Thursday, July 23rd at 6 p.m.! Staff and volunteers from the VCE will lead this special workshop on preparing and storing foods, cooking methods, refrigeration, and kitchen safety. Cost is free for members or $5/non-members. Pre-registration is required by contacting the office at 276-957-5757 or spencerpenn04@gmail.com

Pelvic Floor Infused Pilates- Mondays @ 6pm and Wednesday, July 1st & 8th @ 6pm, Wednesday, July 15th @ 10am, and Wednesday July 22nd & 29th @ 10am & 6pm. Come join Postura Aligne owner Melodie Ferguson! Classes help strengthen your core, support pelvic health and move with confidence. $20 per class

Tai-Chi – Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Stretching, Balance exercise, and Health Information! Free Class!

Chair Aerobics – Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. with Judi Perrin. 45 minutes of exercise, strength building and fun! $5 fee
