What’s Happening at SPC?
Farmer’s Market – Every Thursday from 4 to 7pm under the pavilion. We are still accepting vendor applications. Join us for fresh produce, baked goods, jams, crafts, plants, meat, eggs, and more!
October 24th is the final market of the season! Our BOO Market will include Buckin’ Good Eats Food Truck, Sugar Shack Sweets & Treats, seed saving presentation and giveaway, storytime, photo op for those wearing costumes, and special treats!
Storytime! – Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grace Network Pumpkin Patch on Starling Avenue in Martinsville, VA. This monthly program will include special readers, crafts, and other fun activities. Come out and join us for this free program, fit for all ages! No registration needed.
Music Night – Friday, October 11th. The White Oak Ramblers (formerly Jus Cauz) will play in Alumni Hall. Gate opens at 5 pm, band starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a $5 CASH donation. Come enjoy some great mountain music and dancing! Concessions, including our ever-popular Spencer Penn hot dogs, will be sold.
Women in Agriculture Sourdough and Apple Butter Class – Friday, October 18th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.! The Virginia Cooperative Extension will be providing this workshop and providing each participant with their own sourdough starter and apple butter to take home. Please pre-register by calling the Centre at 276-957-5757.
Annual Membership Meeting – Tuesday, October 22nd at 6 p.m.! All members are invited to our Annual Meeting to vote on our 2025 budget and board members. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided, along with a review of everything that has happened in 2024 and upcoming.
Give Thanks Paint Party – Saturday, October 26th, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. $30/members and $35/non-members. All supplies are provided. Instructor, Lisa Laliberty You must pre-register by October 21st.
1st Annual Christmas Extravaganza – Friday, December 13th, 5 – 9 p.m. Now accepting vendors! Join us for a festive evening with live music from The Country Boys, vendors, Santa photos, a Taylor Swift Dance Party, and so much more! Admission to the event is free. Admission to Alumni Hall for Music Night with the Country Boys is a suggested $5 donation. Concessions will be sold.
