Farmer’s Market – Every Thursday from 4 to 7pm under the pavilion. We are still accepting vendor applications. Join us for fresh produce, baked goods, jams, crafts, plants, meat, eggs, and more!
September 5th market will include Buckin’ Good Eats Food Truck, Sugar Shack Sweets & Treats, and presentations by spinners, the VCE and Master Gardeners on Fair Submissions!
Storytime! – Saturday, September 7, at 10am. This monthly program will include special readers, crafts, and other fun activities. Come out and join us for this free program, fit for all ages! No registration needed.
October Storytime will occur at the Grace Network Pumpkin Patch. Drop in anytime from 9 to 1 to grab your own pumpkin and participate in storytimes and other activities!
Music Night – Friday, September 13th. Our friend Glen Paschal returns with his band the Telluride Bluegrass Band to play in Alumni Hall. Gate opens at 5 pm, band starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a $5 CASH donation. Come enjoy some great mountain music and dancing! Concessions, including our ever-popular Spencer Penn hot dogs, will be sold.

Line-up for the day:
8:30 – 10 a.m.: Shade Tree Pickin’ with Josh Marlowe and Nathan Helms (Bring a chair and join in!) Sugar Shack Sweets & Treats selling coffee and mini donuts next to the Mary Jordan ballfield. Spencer Ruritans will begin selling quarts and gallons of stew (to-go only, call Terri Flanagan at 276-340-1615, Jerry Hylton at 276-732-0626 or Joey Pigg at 276-732-3002).
10 a.m.: Author Panel, Vendor shopping begins, Barnival games begin ($5 admission), Cruise-In, Lone Ivy String Band performs under pavilion, Revolutionary War demonstrations begin
11 a.m.: Food sales begin in the Entertainment Garden. The Pumpkin Runner 1 mile Fun Run and Book Trail $5 (Register at raceentry.com) First 20 families to register will receive a special gift. All participants will receive a swag bag. Children who participate will receive complimentary entry to the Barnival.
11:30 – 12:30: George Hodges performs under the pavilion
1 – 3 p.m.: The CC Coates Band performs under the pavilion
Estate Planning Workshop – Thursday, September 26th at 6 p.m.! Sarah Bidwell from Wills on Wheels will go over the basics of estate planning and answer questions at no cost in this workshop. Please pre-register by Tuesday, September 24th by calling the Centre at 276-957-5757.
Emergency Binder Workshop – Thursday, September 26th at 7 p.m.! Sarah Bidwell from Wills on Wheels will provide the binder and inserts for this workshop. Join her as she walks through each section and discusses their importance, as well as the documents and information that should be included. Cost is $10/members and $15/non-members to include all supplies, including binder. Please pre-register by Tuesday, September 24th by calling the Centre at 276-957-5757.
Barn Quilt – Sunday, September 29th, 1 to 4pm. All supplies are provided. You must pre-register by September 20th.
