Something creepy is awakening at the Virginia Museum of Natural History this October!

On Thursday, October 29, the museum is offering its first-ever, adults-only, Halloween-themed, behind-the-scenes experience for those who dare!

The evening begins innocently enough, with an offering of heavy hors d’oeuvres, adult beverages, and a signature cocktail during the “Dispirited Hour”. It’s when the restricted access doors swing open and the behind-the-scenes tours begin that things grow peculiar.

Led by the museum’s curators, guests will tour the museum with a focus on the “spirit room” collections and the creepy stories many of its specimens tell. As you wind your way through the museum’s restricted areas, guests will ultimately arrive at a normally inaccessible zone where executive director and renowned forensic entomologist Dr. Joe Keiper will haunt you with a never-before told story of insects and their role in death scene investigations. Know Before You Go:

• All guests must be 21 or older.
• Tickets must be purchased in advance to attend. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
• Ticket sales will end October 22 or sooner, if all tickets are sold.
• For one part of the experience, one flight of stairs is required for access, but all will be treated to all food offerings, beverages, specimens, and stories.
