The Historic Fieldale Iron Bridge was constructed in 1931 and is located in Southern Virginia. The Iron Bridge has been an important part of the community of Fieldale since its construction. When community members found out that the bridge would be destroyed to make way for a new more modern bridge, they joined forces to preserve the historic structure.
A small piece of the former bridge was saved and has been modified. It is located inside the Fieldale Park. Guests have the opportunity to walk across the “Historic Iron Bridge,” learn about the history of Fieldale and see the memorial plaques that were purchased by community members honor or memory of loved ones.
