Think of the Trout Before You Dump It Out Storm Drain Mural
Located on Oakland Street, directly behind the Virginia Museum of Natural History, is the Think of the Trout Before You Dump It Out storm drain mural painted by Irene Jewell. Jewell, is the middle school winner of Dan River Basin Association's Inspire Clean Water Art Contest, sponsored by the Martinsville UpTown Rotary Club.
Think of the Trout Before You Dump It Out features a rainbow trout, which are abundant in the Smith River, swimming above a tire that has been dumped into the river.
