Presented by Sovah Health – Martinsville, this annual celebration of outdoor recreation takes place on Saturday, August 23 at the Smith River Sports Complex in Henry County, VA.
Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, nature lover, or just looking for a fantastic way to spend the day with family and friends, Smith River Fest has something for everyone. Set along the scenic Smith River, the festival is your invitation to ride the river, explore trails, discover new adventures, and connect with the natural beauty that makes our region shine.

This year’s festival will be packed with outdoor action, family fun, and unforgettable moments:
- Helgramite Hustle 5K Mud Run – Take on obstacles, mud pits, and more in this messy but exhilarating race!
- River Tubing – Enjoy a relaxing float down the Smith River — free tubing runs available throughout the day.
- River Race – Paddle for glory in this timed race along the Smith River.
- Live Music & Entertainment – Don’t miss a special afternoon concert by Griffin, sponsored by URW Community FCU.
- Magic Show – Be amazed by Joseph Young’s magic on stage and throughout the grounds.
- Bike Barn – Need wheels? Borrow a bike and hit the trails!
- Kids’ Activities – Rock wall, bounce houses, petting zoo from Infinity Acres, water gun battles, and more!
- Fly Fishing Demos – Learn the art of casting with expert fly fishers.
- Vendors, Food Trucks & Beer Garden – Grab a bite, sip a cold drink, and shop local outdoor gear and crafts.
