The Historic Bassett Train Depot is a landmark in the community of Bassett, Virginia. The once fully functioning passenger station, now serves as a gorgeous event center. In the early days, passenger trains would depart in the morning, mid-day and early evening. A trip to Bassett to Ferrum was 31 cents! Passenger trains continued to run from Bassett to Martinsville until mid-1957.
The Bassett Train Station Event Center is now ready to host events for up to 200 guests. The main room for the Event Center is the spacious hall which was the train depot's shipping and receiving warehouse that now includes a raised platform. This main room is surrounded by rustic white painted brick walls with the original wooden sliding doors along three walls and is perfect for receptions and concerts. A large kitchen and gathering room on the adjacent side of the building provide opportunity for smaller meetings, community or family meals, and business parties. This iconic building fuses historic beauty and modern amenities to create a memorable location your guests will not forget.
