Auditions for The Color Purple start May 23rd
Auditions for the Patriot Players’ next performance, The Color Purple, are:
- Monday, May 23; 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 25; 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Saturday, May 28; 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
All auditions are held in the Walker Theatre at Patrick Henry Community College. To schedule an audition time, email email@example.com. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Actors must be over eight years of age to audition. Those auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of song or roughly one verse and one chorus. Performers can sing a cappella or bring an MP3 instrumental track. An accompanist will not be provided. Casting strong gospel-style or soulful performers of African-American ethnicity.

The Patriot Players are PHCC’s theater troupe which offers students and community members the opportunity to gain onstage experience while learning about the theater profession.
