Calendar of events for Spencer Penn Centre for April 2024

Storytime! - Saturday, April 6, at 10am.  This monthly program will include special readers, crafts, and other fun activities related to “Spring is calling!”  Come out and join us for this free program, fit for all ages.  No registration needed.

Music Night - Friday, April 12, with longtime favorite oldtime dance band, The Slate Mountain Ramblers!  Gate opens at 5 p.m. 5:30 is now open JAM! and the band starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a $5 cash donation. Come bring your flatfootin’ shoes and enjoy some great music!  Concessions, including the ever popular Spencer Penn hot dogs, chicken salad, BBQ, and homemade desserts will be sold.  

Neighbors in the Know - Everyone is invited to join staff and volunteers in the Hylton Library for activities and socializing on the first and third Monday of each month. Each week will include a different presentation and activity, followed by a way to get you moving. The program is an hour long and activities for children will be provided during the program for those with little ones who would like to attend.  Every third Monday, a music program will be provided. Come sing, play an instrument, or just listen.  This free program is perfect for all ages and will encourage mental, emotional, and physical well-being each month.  Be sure to join us and bring a friend!  No registration is required, just come on. ** We will be closed on April 1st, for the first Monday, so this month we will only be having this gathering on April 15. 

Annual Pig Cookin! - Saturday, April 20 from 10am to 4pm.  There will be live music, cloggers, vendors, concessions, Barnival, and Cruise-In for this annual barbeque competition.  Now accepting vendors and cookers! Spencer Penn Thursday Farmers Market - Our first Thursday afternoon Farmers’ Market will be Thursday, April 25th, time tbd.  Please call the centre if you would like to be a vendor. 

Barn Quilt Class - Sunday April 28 from 1 to 5pm. All supplies are provided.

Class will be filled on a first paid first served basis.
