Come Celebrate the Holidays in Uptown Martinsville

The holidays are here. This weekend Uptown businesses will host an open house event. Many of the merchants will be showcasing their holiday décor and merchandise, having sales, and offering refreshments. Enjoy local musical talents as you shop, locations and times will be scattered. The open house will be held on Saturday November 23 throughout the day ending with the 2013 Martinsville & Henry County Christmas Parade at 5 pm.

The Grinch will be sharing treats at Uptown Sweets and will also be available for pictures. In addition, the Artisan Center, which is hosting its Handmade Holiday Market this weekend, will be having a class for children from 10:00-11:30 AM where children can create their own unique fused glass plate for holding Santa's cookies!

On December 6th at 5:30 pm Martinsville Uptown will have the annual Christmas tree lighting on the lawn in front of the Municipal Building. A local children's choir will perform. The event will be followed by the First Friday Art Walk through Uptown, along with the history of Christmas decorations at the Martinsville-Henry County Heritage Center & Museum.
